Camogli with its quaint little harbour is a true pearl! In the nineteenth century it was historically the place of the shipowners of Mille Velieri Bianchi, an unbelievable power of commerce and transport of very great importance, coming from Genoese maritime power. The sailing school is named after Christopher Columbus and here the first friendly society for sailors came into being. What more can one say? ... For instance that on the second Sunday in May there is the Padellata: an enormous frying pan that fries almost a ton of fish!
Camogli is a harbour that came into being for fishermen, where there are still true fishermen! But there is also tourist fishing and sporting fishing, as well as a transit area allowing the passage of 7 yachts at a time, maximum length 9 metres and draught 1 and a half metres. A small harbour, geared not only to fishing but also to the ferries that constitute a precise connection with Punta Chiappa and San Fruttuoso. There are also tourist excursions that set out from here and take tourists around.
Antonio Usai, the executive officer for sea activities of Camogli council, explains that the harbour, although it is small, is a place to shelter in when the weather is bad, equipped with 9 columns that have 36 jets of water and supply electric energy. And then, let’s be clear about it, the yachter that comes here finds what he or she needs!
The harbour provides the following services:
- Financial services - ATM
- Fishing articles
- Used oil collection area
- Post
- Services for animals
